We are an independent publishing collective—by writers, for writers.
We are also a Boston-area writers’ critique group which has been working together for over 25 years.
Originally formed by five Emerson graduates who critiqued each others’ short stories our group has
morphed over the years into its current iteration.
We believe in supportive, clear communication about the work that we create, and feedback that is instructive
and honest. Prior to March 2020, we met bi-weekly in restaurants near Coolidge Corner and Fenway Park, and
occasionally at the Writers’ Loft. During the pandemic, like everyone else, we met online.
It was late one evening, as our online meeting wound down and we commiserated over our longing for a
scoop of frozen satisfaction from J. P. Licks, that we realized how perfectly our combined skill-set enabled us to
circumvent the big publishing houses and put our voices out into the world. After the shock wore off, we
agreed to support each other in this exciting new endeavor, and Table for 7 Press was born!
